Request For Proposals

The cutoff date
for receiving research proposals was Friday, July 11, 1997. The Advisory
Committee selected the winning proposals on Tuesday, August 5, 1997,
with a target startup date of Sept. 1, 1997.
The Ontario Research Enhancement Program (OREP) is a $4-million
two-year federal research initiative that is intended to enhance the
economic contribution of Ontario's agriculture and agri-food sector.
The Program will be managed by Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada's
Southern Crop Protection and Food Research Centre (SCPFRC), London,
Ontario, with input from the agriculture and agri-food sector, universities
and the province.
Details of the Program can be

Notes for Proposers:
- Proposals should indicate:
- active participation of at least one research scientist
from one of the Ontario AAFC Research Centres (see AAFC staff
list below),
- which AAFC Centre mandate is being referenced in the proposal,
- which OASCC Sub-Committee Recommendation is being referenced
in the proposal.
- Proposals should clearly identify all other sources of funding,
including other Federal program sources. Existing projects already
being funded from other sources must clearly identify new/additional
objectives and deliverables to be eligible for OREP funding.
- It would be of assistance to the review process if proposals
identified:
- which Research Component(s) (Sect. 2.1) are being addressed
in the proposal;
- which Research Area(s) (Sect. 3.2) are being addressed in
the proposal.
- When preparing the proposal budget, identify separately those
budget items to be carried out by AAFC personnel and those by a
university, or other organization.
- Qualified proposers should submit 12 copies of their proposal
to the Program Manager by Friday, July 11, 1997.
